Privacy policy
1. Who we are
HogFinder is published by Ihsan Md Al Aqib, Dhaka, Bangladesh ("we", "us"). Contact for privacy questions: ihsanaqib.dev@gmail.com.
2. The software
The current version makes no network connections and sends us no data. There is no telemetry, no analytics and no crash reporting.
To do its job the software reads information on your own computer: running programs (names, paths, command lines, CPU, memory and disk use), installed programs, folder sizes, the Windows event log entries used to explain spikes, and the files it may clean. This information is shown to you in the window and never leaves your PC unless you copy it yourself (for example with "Copy command line").
The software stores these files on your PC, in %LOCALAPPDATA%\HogFinder:
actions.log: a record of every clean, restore, delete and uninstall you ran;incidents.jsonl: the spike history (last 7 days) with program names and measurements;Quarantine\: files you cleaned in quarantine mode, deleted automatically after 7 days;RegistryBackups\: registry exports made before keys are removed.
You can delete this folder at any time. Uninstalling HogFinder does not delete it automatically so you can still restore quarantined files; remove it manually when you no longer need it.
3. Pro licence and updates (when released)
This section applies once Pro or automatic updates are available, and will be updated before they ship. The software will then contact our licence service or our payment provider to check a licence key and, for updates, to check for a new version. Those requests will contain your licence key and the software version, and, as any internet request does, your IP address. We will not send file names, program names, folder contents or any scan results. Any optional usage statistics will be off by default and will show you the exact data before you turn them on.
4. The website
This website is static. It sets no cookies, loads no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and loads no fonts or code from other sites. Our web host may keep standard server logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security and capacity; we do not use them to identify individuals. Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the site. 5. Buying Pro
Purchases are processed by our online reseller and merchant of record, [PAYMENT PROVIDER NAME]. It collects your name, email, billing country, payment details and tax information, and handles payment, taxes and refunds under its own privacy policy: [LINK TO PROVIDER PRIVACY POLICY]. We receive your name or email, country, order details and licence key so that we can deliver your licence and support you. We do not receive your full card number.
6. Email and support
If you email us we use your address and message only to reply and to improve the software. We keep support emails for up to [24] months. We do not sell your information or share it for advertising.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict some uses. Email ihsanaqib.dev@gmail.com and we will answer within 30 days. Data held by our payment provider is requested from them. The software itself keeps your data only on your PC, where you control it.
8. Children
HogFinder is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for material changes, note it on the download page and in the release notes.
